The lavish home is a feast for the eyes.

Leave it to Kara Dioguardi to still make a killing in this dismal real estate market, but that's exactly what this talented lady did.

The ex-American Idol judge sold her palatial French chateau-style mansion in the Studio City neighbourhood of Los Angeles for $6.3 million on December 28.

The 42-year-old award-winning songwriter bought the home in 2007 for $3.5 million, which means that she pocketed a nice $2.8 million profit.

The home boasts five bedrooms, six and a half bathrooms and is like a dream come true with its three acres of lushly landscaped pastoral grounds behind private gates and a 50-foot long infinity pool.

Kara completely restored the home with architectural elements from the original 1923 construction, adding many contemporary touches.

My Comment: This is certainly a lvish home .... and it is not a surprise that it sold quickly.
