A Look At Some Of The Most Expensive Homes in America’s Richest County (Teton, Wyoming)

Photos: The Most Expensive Homes in America’s Richest County -- Vocativ

What $55 million gets you in Teton, Wyoming A lot of people in Teton, Wyoming, the land of ranches and ski resorts, don’t live normal lives.

That’s because it’s the single richest county in America—has been, actually, for a number of years now. According to recent data from the IRS, the average income in Teton is just shy of $300,000—the highest in the United States. Nationwide, the average American income is just over $62,000.

That number is, of course, heavily skewed by the fact that Teton is a playground for business, political and entertainment titans. Dick Cheney and Harrison Ford have homes there, and Sandra Bullock reportedly just spent her 50th birthday at the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar—a local watering hole. Tiger Woods and Judge Judy are residents, too.

With so many celebs, it’s not shocking that the county of 22,000 people has a lot of fabulous homes. Below are the priciest mansions currently on the block, via RealtyTrac.

My Comment: This is the first time that I am hearing about Teton, Wyoming. Then again ... I am not rich. But for those who love to live in the wild .... and dream of living it in a million plus log cabin .... these homes are for you.

Fancy a waterslide that takes you straight from your dance floor to your swimming-pool? What about an unobstructed view of the crystal clear Mediterranean Sea?

Believe it or not, this property exists… and it could be yours for a reported $400 million. The tiny principality of Monaco, nestled on the French Riviera, is best known as a playground of the rich and famous – with nearly one in every three residents a millionaire, according to WeathInsight research.

But it could soon garner a reputation for more than its glamourous Grand Prix and numerous casinos – as it is now home to what could become the world's most expensive apartment.

The property in question is the 3,300-square-meter, quintuplex "Sky Penthouse" in the soon-to-be-completed Odeon Tower.

A Beverly Hills House Is Now On The Market With An Asking Price Of $135 Million

Beverly House Ups Ante With $135-Million Asking Price -- L.A. Times

No sooner did the mountain move -- the $125-million Fleur de Lys chateau listing that held the price peak in the Southern California market sold this week for a record-breaking $102 million -- than another pinnacle popped up to take its place at the summit of the price spectrum.

Reentering the fray at $135 million is what's known as the Beverly House, built by local banker Milton Getz in the 1920s and known as the onetime residence of publishing magnate William Randolph Hearst and actress Marion Davies.

Adding more glitter to the pedigree, the six-acre estate in Beverly Hills served as a honeymoon spot for Jacqueline and John F. Kennedy. Unlike socialite Suzanne Saperstein’s Fleur de Lys listing, which had held steady at its asking price since 2007, the 50,000-square-foot Beverly House has been marketed at different prices during the same time frame. Listed at one point for $165 million, the estate was priced most recently at $115 million.

My Comment: If it did not sell at $115 million .... it will not sell at $135 million. But then again .... this is Beverly Hills. The above video is from 2011.

A Look Inside The Playboy Mansion

A Sneak Peek Into The Playboy Mansion -- The Richest

With only a few thousand dollars borrowed from the bank and friends, Hugh Hefner built the Playboy empire from scratch. It soon became, and still is, one of the world’s most famous adult magazines, edited in over 30 countries worldwide. The very first Playboy magazine featured none other than Hollywood’s beloved blonde, Marilyn Monroe, on the cover back in 1953. More than 50,000 issues were sold, but the magazine wasn’t all about sexy pictorials, it also included intriguing articles and short stories written by the moment’s disputed writers, like Arthur C. Clarke, Ian Fleming, and Vladimir Nabokov.

Permanently accompanied by beautiful young women, Hugh Hefner is one of the most envied men in the world. Indisputably associated with his name, the Playboy Mansion has always been subject to controversy, and it was back in the 1970′s that Hef’s ill-famed parties first caught the public’s attention. It is one man’s harem in modern days, a sanctuary of luscious lifestyle, hosting countless orgies. However, most of what really happens behind the Mansion’s solid gates continues to be a mystery. Luckily, a few former Playboy Bunnies helped us expose the exaggerated indulgence and decadence inside the infamous, yet fascinating Mansion.

10 Richest Private Island Owners

Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich spent $400 million on buying New Holland Island, a collapsing ex-military base in a St. Petersburg canal. He intends to transform the island into a cultural center. The bid to run the island was won by Abramovich and is the latest of Abramovich's lavish spending sprees. The newly formed company will now invite architects to bid for the contract to transform the 18-acre island, which will take about six years to complete. New Holland island was created in the 18th century through the construction of two canals and gains it name from its resemblance to areas of Amsterdam. Bornrich.com

10 Richest Private Island Owners -- The Richest

There’s nothing like owning an island to tell the world you’ve made it – that you are, in fact, wildly successful. Owning an island used to be more mysterious and less publicised than it is nowadays. Billionaires have always been secretly running off and buying remote pieces of property for their own delights, but then Hollywood got on the bandwagon and now almost every star owns a private getaway somewhere. Tom Hanks, Leonardo DiCaprio and Johnny Depp are just a few well known island owners, and although they didn’t make the list of richest islands, they sure make owning an island look cool, and have contributed to the popularity of the island as a status symbol.

We might all dream about what we’d do with our very own private annex; would we open it up to world, make it a party spot, or keep it a well-preserved secret tucked away from the world? Have a look at what these 10 wealthy people did with theirs; we’ve ranked them by the huge costs of their islands, which typically correlates with huge net worths.

The "Diamonds" singer, 26, has put her Los Angeles home on the market for $14.9995 million, Trulia reports.

Rihanna moved into the sprawling 11,000 square foot pad in December 2012, but a relentless world tour to support her album "Unapologetic" kept her away from the place most of the time.

Rihanna was likely also put off by an incident in March 2013 in which stalker Steveland Barrow broke into a house nearby hoping to hunt down the songstress.
