After years on and off the market, the ‘unsellable’ Fleur de Lys estate in L.A. has finally found a buyer and at $102 million has become the most expensive home ever sold in Los Angeles County.

Three billionaires reportedly engaged in a bidding war for the nearly five-acre trophy estate, the winner closing in 10 days in an all-cash deal that included antique furnishings.

The 50,000-square-foot residence was sold by socialite Suzanne Saperstein, who had the mansion custom built in 2002 with her then husband, Texan billionaire David Saperstein.

My Comment: What caught my eye in this story is the reason for the divorce and the sale of this property .... the ex-husband running away with the young nanny.

The luxurious home - which was on the market for $10,750,000, according to Trulia - sits in a private gated community in the exclusive California suburb, and is a whopping 10,000 square feet.

The older daughter of Formula  1 tycoon Bernie Ecclestone is eyeing up the lavish Fleur de Lys estate to add to her property portfolio, undeterred by its £78 million asking price. The five-acre estate in the Holmby Hills in Bel Air, Los Angeles, was modelled on Louis XIV’s Palace of Versailles – and certainly contains all the opulent luxuries a modern-day princess could demand.

The two-story Holmby Hills property has a whopping six bedrooms, seven bathrooms and a guest house.

It has been on and off the market for years.

And now the mansion Michael Jackson was renting for $100,000-a-month when he died has been put up for sale once again.

The house, which has seven bedrooms, 13 bathrooms and a seven-car garage all sprawled over 17,200 square feet comes with an asking price of $23.9million.

It was listed for a higher price of $29million when it was put on the market in August 2010.

It was built in 1938 for child star extraordinaire Judy Garland, who was 16 at the time and had just landed a role in a film called The Wizard of Oz.
